Get to know these eight creative studios in Belfast
Deciding on which part of the industry you’d like to work in is one thing, but knowing where to find relevant and inspiring workplaces is another. And with so many creative companies across the UK, expanding your knowledge of who’s out there can certainly give you a leg up. So every few weeks, we’ll be helping you discover new studios, agencies and more by highlighting a range of them up and down the British isles. This week, we’re heading to the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast!
Belfast has a cultural scene that is thriving. Resurgent and flourishing, the city has a variety of creative offerings: the lively Cathedral Quarter – a hub of creativity and innovation, renowned arts centre the MAC, as well as an abundance of street art with great historical, cultural and political significance.
What’s more, the city of Belfast has established itself as a leading hub for the creative, digital and information and communications technology industries – so much so that a new scheme aimed at broadening Northern Ireland’s access to the screen and creative industries launched last year. Funded by the Department for Communities and in partnership with BBC Northern Ireland, the Creative Industries New Entrants initiative offers emerging talent from disadvantaged backgrounds formal training, as well as the opportunity to partake in paid, 12 to 18-month placements to kickstart their creative careers.
With initiatives actively seeking out new talent, coupled with the fact that the creative industries in Northern Ireland is employing over five percent of the entire workforce, the region’s creative sector is blooming. Angel & Anchor
