Every few weeks, we'll be telling you the hottest opportunities on our Opportunities Board. This week, we're showcasing five amazing creative career internships for budding designers, writers and even architects who are just starting out.
The creative industry is constantly offering opportunities for designers, artists and general makers-and-doers to help excel in their careers. That's why, every few weeks, Creative Lives will be rounding up all the best job listings, events and programmes our Opportunities Board has to offer.
This week, we're featuring some amazing internships that creative career newbies shouldn't miss out on applying to. Whether you're at uni and looking for a bit of real-world experience during the summer holidays, or a fledgling creative lacking the right amount of experience for most junior roles, then one of these internships may be just the ticket to start a world-class career!
Digital Content Producer – Photoworks
Based: Remote
Contract: Internship
Salary: National Living Wage

South East England residents, rejoice! Photoworks, in partnership with English Heritage’s national youth engagement programme Shout Out Loud, are looking for an enthusiastic and driven creative mind to plan, manage and deliver creative, youth-focused content for their digital channels. It’s not an internship per sé, but a twelve-week placement lasting from June to September. The role is mostly remote, but may involve travel to their offices in Brighton.

Architectural Internship – POoR Collective and GPAD London
Based: London
Contract: Internship
Salary: Minimum £20,000

Aspire to be the next Zaha Hadid? POoR Collective and GPAD London have teamed up to look for an intern to help Build The Way, over the course of a year. You will learn the fundamentals of architecture, how to communicate your thoughts and ways to illustrate ideas. Again, no formal qualifications are required, even though you do have to be aged between 18 and 22.

Junior Designer – Magpie Studio

Junior Video Editors – Dot Dot Dot

Salary: £200–£250 per day

Dot Dot Dot are specialists in brand identities and content for the entertainment sector, and they’re currently looking to bring junior editors to work alongside established creatives and designers to create a series of simple films. They’re on the hunt for editors who are keen, self-motivated, proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and willing to learn. All you need is a good computer, and you’re in with a chance to work with the people who did the graphics for the last ever Celebrity Big Brother. What’s not to like?

Art&Graft are looking for emerging creatives with big ideas and an eye for contemporary design to work on both commercial and internal studio projects.
