Together with Google, we’re bringing you a special edition of our online portfolio reviews, with a focus on a range of creative specialisms – from design, content creation and social media to production and writing. On Tuesday 21 May, we’ll be hosting an online portfolio review for US-based creatives, together with members of different teams working across Google.
The event will be your opportunity to:
- Chat to a range of creatives from Google
- Get insight on what the team looks for in new talent
- Receive one-to-one advice and feedback on your work
- Meet inspiring fellow emerging creatives
Who can apply?
This portfolio review is open to creatives from a wide range of disciplines, including graphic design, writing, production, cinematography, social media and content creation.
This session is open to students, grads, those currently seeking work or working in the creative industry. To register, applicants must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Have the right to work in the United States
- Be from underrepresented and/or non-traditional backgrounds
- Have no more than 5 years’ professional experience in the creative industry
As part of the application process, you will be required to have something to show, but this doesn’t have to be a polished portfolio. We also recommend keeping this to one to two projects or pieces of work that capture what you do.
When and where will it be happening?
📍 Where?
The session will take place virtually on Google Meet on Monday 21 May 2024.
⏰ When?
The event will be three hours long, with breaks in between – from 10am to 1pm PDT (1pm to 4pm EDT).
How will it work?
In virtual breakout rooms of three emerging creatives and one to two Google reviewers, you will get the opportunity to show and discuss work, and get advice and feedback. This will then rotate, so you get to meet several reviewers throughout the session.
Who will be there?
On the day, we will be joined by 20 US-based emerging creatives, who will be connected with 8 members of creatives working across various Google teams, and based in the New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland offices.
Our reviewers will be joining us from a range of Google teams including:
- Google Brand Studio
- Google Creative Lab
- YouTube
- Google Events & Experiences
