Seven creative studios to check out in Brighton
Deciding on which part of the industry you’d like to work in is one thing, but knowing where to find relevant and inspiring workplaces is another. And with so many creative companies across the UK, expanding your knowledge of who’s out there can certainly give you a leg up. So every few weeks, we’ll be helping you discover new studios, agencies and more by highlighting a range of them up and down the British isles – starting in the creative hub by the sea, also known as Brighton!
A city whose charm has the tendency to attract all sorts of creatives looking to indulge in a range of creative opportunities – from performance, arts and music at Brighton Dome and networking events with Wired Sussex to the Brighton Illustration Fair – Brighton is bound to hydrate your creative thirst.

1. Boyle&Perks
Specialism: Design
Company Size: 1–20
Boyle&Perks is a design and communications studio creating identities, publications, websites, animation and exhibition designs for a diverse collection of businesses within education, healthcare and culture. Some of the studio’s recent work include a new identity for Central Saint Martins, a short course prospectus for an NHS Trust as well as a new website for the Towner Art Gallery.

2. Buff Motion
Specialism: Animation, Motion Design
Company Size: 1–20
A motion design studio creating animation for brands, agencies and non-profits, Buff Motion produces animated marketing campaigns for online, broadcast and on-demand platforms. The studio’s work includes awareness videos and promotional content for clients such as World of Books, Google and the BBC.

3. Baxter & Bailey

4. Form Play Studio

Form Play is an independent animation studio specialising in 2D animation and illustration. The studio’s work is inspired by playfulness, resulting in characterful animations. They’ve partnered with brands such as Google to create explainer-style films and Comedy Central to produce ten spots for its summer idents.

5. Eighth Day

Eighth Day is a design and branding agency specialising in brand identity, print, packaging and digital. Working closely together with its clients, the agency’s work has included a new logo for Sussex Garden Trust, branding for magazine The Maker’s Atelier, as well as a new look for fragrance and cosmetic house Pecksniff’s.
