What is motion design? Join an evening of insight from those in the know

So you’re curious about the world of motion design but don’t know where to start. From a junior motion designer all the way to a design lead, what kind of work do people in motion design do? What roles are available for entry-level talent and what skills might you need to work in this area?

Find out on October 24, as we seek answers from a stellar lineup of industry experts working in this field. So if you’re an emerging creative in the first year of your career and curious about working in motion design, be sure to sign up!

How will it work?

The event will take place over Zoom on Thursday 24 October, from 17:00 to 20:00 BST, and is split into two parts:

🎤 Part 1 – Panel discussion (17:00 to 18:25)
A panel discussion with a range of industry experts, covering questions on everything from the skills needed to work in motion design, to their tips on breaking into the industry.

🤝 Part 2 – Breakout rooms between industry experts and select attendees (18:25 to 20:00)
Select attendees will be put into breakout rooms with our pros where they can interact and ask questions directly to them. You will also be grouped with other emerging creatives and have the chance to network.

Please note

While all eligible applicants are welcome to attend the panel discussion, there are only a limited number of places available for the breakout sessions, so make sure you sign up to register your interest via the link below.

Who will be there?

We’re inviting industry professionals to share insight into their roles, shed light on the opportunities out there and offer advice for anyone looking to follow a similar path. This includes some brilliant creatives from our Company Partners, including:

How to apply

This event is open to emerging creatives with an interest in working in the creative industry. This includes students, grads, or those within the first year of a creative career. You’re only eligible to register if you are:

• Aged 18 and over

• No more than one years’ professional experience in the creative industry

While no previous experience or portfolio is necessary, we do ask that you submit a question for our industry experts when you apply, along with a short line about why you’d like to attend.

Registration and deposits

How do we select attendees for the breakout rooms?
The second part of this event is only open to a selection of attendees, so registering doesn't guarantee a place for the breakout room discussions.

In line with our aim to encourage greater transparency and representation within the creative working world, we prioritise candidates from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the creative industries.

This includes (but is not limited to) applicants from ethnically diverse backgrounds; the LGBTQIA+ community; those who are neurodivergent; D/deaf, disabled or have a long-term health condition; and applicants from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Deposits

Those invited to attend the breakout room sessions will be emailed a week before the event and asked to pay a £5 deposit. This is to confirm your attendance and will be fully refunded after the session.

If you have any concerns about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out and we’ll be sure to do what we can to help.

We hope to see you there!
