You don’t need a portfolio or previous experience to sign up, so if you’re an emerging creative and looking to learn more about UX/UI, be sure to register now!

What to expect

When and where?
The event will take place over Zoom on Thursday 12 December, from 5pm to 7.30pm GMT.

What can attendees expect?
An informal and informative panel discussion, featuring a range of industry professionals working in UX/UI.

After short introductions from the Creative Lives team and our industry panellists, we’ll move straight into a panel discussion. The discussion will be split into two parts, with a short break in-between. Over the course of the evening you’ll have the chance to submit questions as our panellists cover:

  • The fundamentals of UX/UI design
  • Their work and current roles
  • Their unique paths into industry
  • Essential skills, training and tools for success
  • Practical advice for those looking to get into UX/UI

There will also be a dedicated Q&A section at the end, where we’ll pose live questions to our panellists.

Who can apply?

This event is open to emerging creatives (aged 18 and over) with an interest in working in the creative industry – no previous experience or portfolio necessary!

Our What is...? events are aimed at those just starting out in industry and looking to better understand a breadth of creative roles. This includes:

  • Students, recent grads and those changing careers
  • Those with no more than one years’ professional experience in the creative industry

In line with our aim to encourage greater transparency and representation within the creative working world, we welcome registrants from those historically underrepresented backgrounds in the creative industries.

This includes (but is not limited to) applicants from ethnically diverse backgrounds; the LGBTQIA+ community; those who are neurodivergent; D/deaf, disabled or have a long-term health condition; and applicants from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Who will be there?

We’re inviting industry professionals to share insight into their roles, shed light on the opportunities out there and offer advice for anyone looking to follow a similar path. This includes some brilliant creatives from our Company Partners, including:
