Across almost all sectors of the creative industry, agents act as an important bridge between the ‘talent’ they represent, and their possible opportunities. The role of an artist agent is specific to representing artists, designers and illustrators – working as an advocate and business representative for the artists on their roster. As an agent, your responsibilities can include negotiating contracts, finding clients or exhibitions, managing fees and finances and building relationships with creative agencies. They can also plan ways to bring their artists more visibility, such as strategising marketing campaigns or organising interviews in the press. The role suits people with a desire to work across the artistic and commercial worlds.
Please Note: The world of creative careers is broad and ever-evolving. While our descriptions aim to capture the essence of a role, we appreciate that no two jobs will be the same. We’re always looking to grow, expand and add to these roles, so if you feel we are missing something please let us know!
