'On It' Residency
Get It Done
Get It Done is offering a 4-week residency for an early-career creative (0–3 years) at our Shaftesbury Avenue studio (near Tottenham Court Road), supported by Bow Arts. We’re looking for someone who’s keen to turn their bold ideas into action, tackling issues in your local area through a socially engaged creative project.
You might want to gather local stories for a zine, distributed free in local cafes and libraries. Or maybe you’d like to transform a green space with a community event. Or you want to create a podcast about the music history of your area. Get It Done might not have all the specific resources for your project, but we can certainly connect you to our network that will!
You might have an exciting dream for the future, but please reflect and think about what milestone could you achieve through this residency? How could this act as a launchpad for something bigger?
🗓 Residency Dates: Entire month of February 2025
What you will get:
✨ Free access to our Shaftesbury Avenue studio - your creative base for 4 weeks
✨ Resources to support your project delivery
✨ Weekly 1-to-1 mentoring sessions with the Get It Done team
✨ Small material budget for project costs (£100)
What we ask of you:
💡 Kickstart your project and deliver its first impactful stage by end of February
🎯 Hit a key milestone during your residency
Who Should Apply:
This opportunity is for early-career creatives (0–3 years of practice) who are:
Passionate about tackling a local issue through a socially engaged project
Able to commit to delivering the first stage of their project within 4 weeks
Underrepresented in the arts
Not currently in full-time education (university, college, or other further education)
No prior experience is required, but examples of past work or experiences will strengthen your application. We’re open to creatives across all disciplines – from artists and designers to performers, writers, musicians, and beyond. What matters most is your passion and the impact your project could have on your community.
Considerations:
The residency is free to you, but it is unpaid.
Our studio has 24/7 access, but some evening hours are reduced due to shared use with other organisations. This opportunity is best suited to those with flexibility in their schedule, rather than those working a 9-to-5 job.
Our space is on the 6th floor but is fully wheelchair accessible with lifts available.
This residency is kindly supported by Bow Arts.
