About the role:
Jackson’s Art Prize is the annual competition produced by Jackson’s Art Supplies to platform the work of artists from around the world. This role is made up of various tasks throughout the year, ranging from tracking competition data and responding to email enquiries, to assisting with packaging and hanging artworks at the finalists exhibitions in London.
After receiving over 15k entries in 2024, the competition is growing rapidly and it’s an exciting time to come on board for 2025, which will be the ten year celebration.
What we're looking for:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and capable assistant to join our growing and dedicated team.
The role requires a hard working, self-driven individual with an interest or background in the arts, who seeks experience in a production role within the fine arts industry.
You should be proficient in computers and have previous experience of using Award Force or similar competition software, or be quick to learn new software and programs. You need to be able to confidently liaise with entrants, suppliers, artists, suppliers, galleries, and buyers over email and in person. Good time management and attention to detail is important.
Previous experience with artwork handling and installation is preferred.
We are looking for someone to work 2 days (15 hours) per week, 9am - 5:30pm, from 28th January 2025 - 31st July 2025.
Key responsibilities include:
Support the Art Prize and Gallery Coordinator with the general running of the competition, taking on administrative and logistical tasks to ensure each milestone is met with care and attention to detail.
- Monitor the inbox and respond to entrant queries throughout the submissions period.
- Maintain email threads with shortlisted artists and winners and help them coordinate shipment of their work.
- Man the stand at Affordable Art Fair - liaise with buyers and process sales.
- Coordinate artwork collections with exhibitors.
- Set up and monitor the submissions platform throughout the competition.
- Track entry statistics in data reports.
- Take inventory of artworks throughout the exhibition period.
- Assist with hanging the exhibitions.
