Purpose of the Role:

To meticulously run and manage Artiq’s art store.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing the warehouse in compliance with Artiq policies

2. Overseeing receiving, handing out and storage of artworks and related comms

3. Maintaining accurate stock records and overseeing quality control of art

4. Assisting Technicians and Project Coordinators as required


Specific Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for Artists and Couriers delivering to and collecting from the warehouse

- Maintain the warehouse space, keeping it tidy and in good working order, including liaising with trades people and warehouse owners on maintenance issues

- Assist with project paperwork and logistics including, but not limited to, creating purchase orders and organising transport and couriers

- Maintain the storage system, ensuring efficient space utilisation

- Gather artwork and materials for Art Handing Technicians according to the install calendar and Project Coordinators’ instructions, ensuring that they are well prepared for all jobs

- Manage stock control and reconcile with internal storage database as well as Artiq’s artwork database (Swan)

- Where necessary, repair or re-frame artworks in Artiq’s collection

- Purchase and maintain a stock of tools, fixings and supplies for Art Handing Technicians’ usage

- Condition check artworks arriving in the warehouse and maintain records for insurance purposes

- Meet regularly with Operations team to assess, analyse and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity

- Work with Operations team and the Artist & Partnerships team to contact artists for the collection of artworks in long term storage

- Work with the Senior Technician to keep the Artiq van clean and well stocked

- Assist Art Handling Technicians on-site with client installs as needed; covering responsibilities of the Art Handing Technicians and Senior Technician where required

- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security


Requirements and Skills:

- A self-starter who takes a proactive approach to condition reporting and stock management

- A strong communicator who delivers an exceptionally high level of service to colleagues, artists and the artworks in our care

- Proven work experience in a fine art setting or as a Fine Art Technician

- Warehouse and/or stock management experience

- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

- Leadership skills and ability to work independently

- Strong decision-making, organisation and problem-solving skills

- Clean UK driving licence
