About White Cube

White Cube was set up by Jay Jopling in 1993 as a project room for contemporary art. The gallery has since grown into one of the most influential commercial galleries in the world, representing internationally renowned artists such as Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Anselm Kiefer, Liu Wei, Park Seo Bo, Doris Salcedo and Jeff Wall. White Cube’s exhibition programme extends across locations in London, Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Seoul and online. Since its inception in 1993, the gallery has exhibited the work of many of the world’s most highly acclaimed contemporary artists. The role We are seeking a skilled videographer with experience in fine art or product videography with stills photography abilities to join our photography team. As fine art videographer, you will be responsible for capturing and producing captivating video content of art works, and small-scale video productions for the gallery. Your expertise in utilising a gimbal, proficiency in video software, and knowledge of colour management will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

Videography:

• Utilise your technical expertise and creative vision to film fine art, ensuring exceptional video quality and capturing the essence and details of each piece. In a studio setting ensuring a high level of colour management and consistency with in-house photography

• Liaise with editor/producer to ensure briefs are met.

• Collaborate closely with digital and communications teams to understand the artistic concept and ensure your work effectively conveys the intended message.

• Demonstrate proficiency in operating a gimbal and other relevant video equipment to ensure smooth and stabilised footage.

• Experience in using ColourCheckers on site and grading skills for matching photography grades for colour consistency of artworks

• Experience in video grading/editing; HSL grading, curves, colour wheels, denoising, animated masking, colour space understanding in exports, etc

• Basic understanding of sound recording: mic up artists/curators for interviews, capturing sound on site and audio feeds to camera record for artist/curator talks

• Work collaboratively with the creative team to meet project deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain excellent attention to detail.

• Maintain and troubleshoot dedicated video equipment kit ensuring it is in optimal condition

• Film ad-hoc in-house productions; artist or curator tours, social media clips etc creating strong dynamic content

Stills photography:

• Showcase your exceptional photography skills to capture compelling still images for all other photography needs as directed by the Photography Manager, optimised for White Cube’s digital platforms ensuring they are visually stunning and attention-grabbing.

• Designated photographer for staff portraits Skills and experience

• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, 3 years minimum

• Proficiency in video filming, editing, and post-production techniques.

• Strong knowledge of video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop

• Experience in photography

• Proficiency in shooting free hand and experience in capturing compelling still images optimised for online content.

• Proficient in using a Ronin gimbal for smooth and stabilised footage.

• Excellent understanding of colour management and the ability to achieve consistent and accurate colour grading and matching.

• Knowledge of artistic principles and the ability to interpret and convey artistic visions

• Creative flair and a keen eye for detail, composition, and lighting

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, take direction and offer creative input when needed.

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
