Job summary
Assist the Art Teacher during weekly afterschool art workshops.
Where : Quaker Meeting Hall, Gloucester Road, BS7 8PD
When : Tuesdays 3:25pm - 5:25pm (School term-time only.)
About Us
Artlings offers after-school art workshops to over 70 primary school-aged children each week. We believe in teaching kids big art ideas in fun and experimental ways! Our aim is to provide a nurturing space where children can express themselves through art, while encouraging them to expand and develop their artistic vocabulary. Each term, we explore a new theme with a different project every week.
Main duties include:
Collecting children (with the team) from Bishop Road Primary School and safely walking them to Quaker Meeting Hall on Gloucester Road, BS7 8PD.
Provide a supportive environment for the children to take part in the workshops.
Tidy art materials and clean the hall during and at the end of the session.
Help the children to wash their hands and access the toilet.
Supervise the children during the class, ensuring children do not leave the main hall without supervision.
Work within the framework of policies and procedures, including our safeguarding policy.
Personal specification:
We need someone reliable - it is vital to be on time to collect the children each week.
The role requires enthusiasm, energy and the ability to get stuck into all the practical aspects of the role
Ideally you will have some experience working with children, or can demonstrate an enthusiasm for the role.
An enhanced DBS check and a Level 2 certificate in safeguarding children is vital for the role, and we will provide this for the right candidate (safeguarding training takes about 3 hours on-line).
