Co-created and co-delivered annually, in partnership with some of the UK's leading digital design agencies who teach modules in the course and set the group project brief, Flipside partners include: Beyond (BYND), Made by Many, ustwo, Normally, and Designit.

Taking place at the Good Growth Hub and the agencies own offices, Flipside enables Londoners aged 19-30 to start a career in the innovative and ever-growing sector of Digital Product Design.

This intensive but practical introduction 'bootcamp' takes place over 12 weeks and is ideal for: anyone with existing design education or experience needing a practical application for their knowledge, or those new to this sector wanting to develop new skills or explore a career path in digital product design. The course has taken place 5 times before and is designed to give its participants foundational technical and practical design skills, networks, and industry insights needed to build digital products for the future.

This course is designed to help you access paid work and have resilient careers.

Curriculum and Course benefits include:

- Interactive educational workshops

- Personal career coaching and a mentor

- Group projects that respond to live industry-set briefs

- Macbook Pro for the duration of the course

- Bursary of £500 (to go towards anything that will support you during your time on the course)


Who can apply?

Essential:

- Aged 19-30.

- Living in a London borough*.

- Interested in a career in the digital design sector.

Desired:

- Creative problem-solving skills.

- Interest in learning, or basic knowledge of, design software (InVision) and editing tools (Adobe).

- Familiarity with design techniques (prototyping).

- Skills in teamwork, project management, time management, attention to detail, and multitasking.

*Priority is given to those Living in/ from the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Hackney, and Newham.

We are particularly interested in hearing from young people from the global majority, from low-income backgrounds, and those who identify as Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent, and it is really important to us that there are no barriers to anyone applying for opportunities at Good Growth Hub.

Key dates:

- Applications open on Wednesday 16 October 2024

- Applications close at 5pm on Sunday 24 November 2024

- Group Interview Selection Day on Tuesday 10 December where you'll take part in a collaborative group task, meet the team, and have a chance to ask any questions. Please note that we are unable to offer alternative group interview dates.

- Flipside starts on Monday 6 January 2025

- Flipside ends on Wednesday 19 March 2025
