Human After All is a creative agency based in London. This job advert is for Need to Know, a new business that we launched in 2023.

Need to Know is an early talent careers platform, with an Instagram-native news media brand as its entry point.

We meet 15-21 year olds through school recommendation and on social channels — helping them understand what’s happening in the world, what causes they’re motivated by, and directing them to our careers platform to discover careers they can care about.

We’re looking for a graduate-level hybrid Junior Editor / Community Manager, working on a freelance basis, to help us create content and grow our audience.

You will will be responsible for:

  • Writing content for N2K
  • Posting on N2K's Instagram account
  • Working with editors to encourage community engagement and grow our audience
  • Monitoring and responding to comments and feedback
  • Sourcing and interviewing people for N2K’s Spotlight series
  • Creating content based on current social media trends
  • Writing engaging captions
  • Analyse our social media analytics and use it to advise on content

You'll need to be:

  • Passionate about changing news media, including new platforms and modes of storytelling
  • Open to writing in different styles and tones of voice
  • Confident in sharing your ideas within a tight-knit and supportive team
  • A social media enthusiast
  • Knowledgable about Gen Z trends and interests
  • An excellent communicator and open to writing in different tones of voice
  • Visually literate — words and pictures carry equal weight in online storytelling and we need someone who understands how both interact
  • An excellent team player — we are a small team so you should be open to taking on ad hoc tasks not included in the job description

In return you’ll get the opportunity to work with a group of award-winning journalists and editors with decades of experience between them and be given the freedom to make your mark on an exciting new platform.
