Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) is an independent, design-led creative company with offices in London, New York and Shanghai. The team works with brands across the entire consumer experience. Since its inception in 1990, JKR has partnered with companies including Unilever, AB InBev and Kraft Heinz, through to disruptors like Hippeas, Ugly Drinks and The Gut Stuff to create work recognised by the industry’s top events, award shows and publications.
Founded in 1990, JKR started life in London. The large team works collaboratively across departments including design, copywriting, film and motion, interface, form, visualisation, artwork, production, strategy, and account management.
We've recently moved to our new home in Shoreditch, in the iconic Tea Building. Our meeting rooms are now named after the teas that were stored in the tea storage facility, that the site was originally used for.
“In a world where everyone else is taken, be yourself.” Stolen with pride from Oscar Wilde, this thinking is at the heart of everything JKR does. It makes up the bulk of the agency’s philosophy since its inception over 30 years ago. This way of thinking enables the agency to help brands big and small to define who they are, and unpack that across their brand identity.
At JKR, the goal is to create an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the societies we live in, by inspiring brands and people to be their true selves.
Employees’ mental and physical health is a top priority, with JKR offering private healthcare, external coaching partners and meeting-free Fridays from 12pm. JKR also look to provide regular doses of creative inspiration with internal events, talks and socials curated by the team.
When it comes to junior talent opportunities, JKR is diversifying its recruitment networks, partners and programmes to identify talent from non-traditional backgrounds.
One such programme is the JKR Sparks Academy: a 12-week paid placement designed to sharpen skills and open the door to new opportunities in the industry for people with no formal design qualifications. This isn't a standard internship - the team will be keeping you busy from day one with live briefs, specialist training and collaborative projects.
Alongside Sparks, the JKR team host talks and provide mentoring and portfolio reviews to support those embarking on a career in the creative industry.
