Land of Plenty was established in 2016 by Jonny Rowe, Marc Atkinson and Joe Russell, who collectively share over 50 years of experience across design disciplines that weave through fashion, art and culture, hospitality and education.
The small but growing team includes a project manager and two designers, blending experience on an intimate scale. Based near Broadway Market in London, the bright studio is close to the creative energy of East London, but just hidden enough to keep a sense of calm in the practice.
At the heart of the company is a desire to make things possible. This filters down through the business, informing the output as much as the studio culture. The team brings together thinkers and doers, looking to realise ideas through exceptional insights and design.
Enthusiasm and curiosity are the lifeblood of the studio, pushing the team to keep on learning from each other and the world beyond. This spirit is fed through monthly show-and-tells, quarterly inspiration days and regular trips to exhibitions, events and talks.
Company benefits include generous holidays, flexible working, vitality healthcare and the Cycle to Work Scheme.
As a small team, every position is key. Whether a junior or a creative director, responsibility is shared and individual opinions are highly valued.
Entry-level team members work closely with the founders and senior designers, creating a natural environment for mentoring and knowledge-sharing. With plans in place to launch an internship programme in 2021, the company aims to offer a series of month-long positions each year.
In addition, team members can often be found guest lecturing at UK colleges and universities, and taking part in portfolio reviews for those just starting out.
