Part and Sum is a strategic growth partner, bringing together strategy, media, and data and analytics to maximize brand, product, and marketing investments. They bolt-on to pull signals from across your brand experience, uncovering and actioning growth opportunities. They've supported clients across a variety of industries in the U.S. and globally. Their client work includes major brands like Subway, Notion, Spotify, Starbucks and more. Part and Sum was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2016, and has additional locations in Los Angeles, CA and Amsterdam, NL. Since then, their CEO, Jim Babb, and COO, Julie Babb, have assembled a team of strategists, growth marketers, and data and analytics experts dedicated to unlocking opportunities for their clients. They bolt on to transform digital experiences and grow brands by seeing through the eyes of the customer. In 2023, Part and Sum joined Residence, an interdisciplinary network helping innovative, creative talent grow and thrive across art, business, and culture.
Mission and Vision
Together, Part and Sum is building the world’s best environment for curious, smart, and driven people who want to practice their craft of helping client teams and each other figure it out. They bring a growth mindset to everything they do. They have “strong opinions, loosely held,” meaning they're willing to lean into their own POV, but remain open to new perspectives. They prioritize tight feedback loops, embrace curiosity, and team members aim to win “Best Supporting Actor.” That means they show up for our team, clients, and partners, and do the work to make them look good.
Culture and Benefits
Because the team is distributed across 5 time zones, Part and Sum is intentional about scheduling time to collaborate on work and participate in team building experiences. Each quarter, they have dedicated team “fun” time- painting, holiday parties, virtual games, and growth mindset workshops. They also have an annual “Together” event for all team members to connect in person. Every other week alternate between a Show & Learn session for team brainstorms, work shareouts, and demos from industry experts, and “Gather Ye Acorns”, a space to share industry info, or any digital treasure that sparks your interest.
Opportunities
Part and Sum is passionate about uplifting junior and associate talent by giving them the necessary tools, feedback, and partnerships to succeed. In weekly account reviews, senior support will pair with more junior team members to upskill, teach, and provide general knowledge and advice. Full-time associate-level team members will be given a pro-dev, pro-do, and pro-discover budget to help aid in their creative journey. Interns are assigned a program manager, mentor, and buddy to help facilitate structure, goal setting, and industry education during their internship experience.
