Wise was TransferWise first — founded in 2011 by two Estonians living and working in London. They both moved their money with their banks — which had expensive fees and bad exchange rates. They knew there had to be a better way. So they put their heads together and invented a beautifully simple workaround. Our name may have changed but the heart of what we do is always the same: helping people manage their money internationally more cheaply, quickly, and transparently.
