IRL Portfolio Reviews | 29 July 2026
As part of our Portfolio July series, we’re opening the CLIP studio doors to host Portfolio Review sessions at our space in London! Apply now for the chance to get in-person feedback from a range of industry professionals, meet fellow emerging creatives, swap tips and take your work to the next level.

Why attend?
Getting feedback on your work is one of the most valuable things you can do when you’re just starting out. But let’s be honest – it’s not always easy to find! As part of our Portfolio July series we’re opening up the doors to CLIP HQ to make it all a bit easier.
So whether you’re still studying, building your first portfolio, or starting to take on client work, we’ll be bringing together a range of industry pros to look over your work and give you their honest feedback and advice.
When and where will it be happening?
When?
Wednesday 29 July 2026. We’re offering two review sessions – morning and afternoon – followed by open networking in the evening. Each session will have a different group of industry professionals and emerging creatives.
☀️ Morning session: 9.45am to 1.15pm
🏙️ Afternoon session: 2.30pm to 6pm
🤝 Networking: 6pm to 8pm
🚨 Please note: You can only attend one review session, but you can let us know which you prefer in the application form. Spaces are limited for this event, so applying doesn’t guarantee a place.
Where?
The Creative Lives in Progress studio in Old Street, London. The space is located on the 3rd floor. You can let us know about any access requirements in the application form, but for any additional questions please email us at [email protected].
How will it work?
During the event you will be placed in small groups made up of three emerging creatives and one industry reviewer, to show and discuss work, as well as get advice and feedback. This will then rotate, so you’ll meet several reviewers throughout your session.
Plus, the event will end with open networking where you’ll have a chance to connect with other early-career creatives!
How to apply
Our Portfolio Reviews are open to emerging graphic designers within the first year of their career. This includes students, graduates and freelancers. You are only eligible to apply if you are:
- Within the first year of your career
- Not in full-time creative work
- Based in the UK
- Aged 18 and over
You will be required to have something to show (e.g. a few projects or pieces of work that capture what you do), but don’t worry if this isn’t a polished portfolio.
⏰ Be quick as applications close at 11.59pm on 12 July 2026!
Who will be there?
We will be joined by a range of reviewers, including creatives from our Company Partners – check them out below. Stay tuned as we’ll be announcing our full line-up soon.
FAQs
How do we select attendees for our IRL Portfolio Review events?
First, we review all applications to make sure your work aligns with the discipline we're focusing on – in this case, graphic design. Ideally, you’ll have a handful of projects or examples you’re ready to share during the event.
Due to high demand and limited capacity, spaces are then allocated through a lottery system. However, we do prioritise applicants who have previously applied but haven’t attended a Portfolio Review event with us.
Those invited to attend will receive an email at least a week before the event to confirm their place. If you don’t get a spot this time, we’d love for you to apply again next time. Just let us know on the form that you’ve applied before, and we’ll be sure to prioritise your application.
I’ve attended a Portfolio Review event before, can I still apply?
Yes of course – but please note that you will be automatically added to our waitlist. We love seeing familiar faces, but our goal is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend, especially those who haven’t yet had the chance.
I live outside of London, can I still apply?
Absolutely! We welcome registrants from across the UK, but please note that we are unfortunately unable to cover any travel costs.
We also have two online Portfolio Review events for those based further afield across the UK.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out and we’ll be sure to do what we can to help. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see you – whether this time or at a future event!
