Communications and Operations Assistant
Culture for Climate Scotland

Culture for Climate Scotland is looking for a dynamic team member to join our organisation to provide communications and operations support.
The communications and operations assistant role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a dynamic and growing organisation. The successful applicant will help us in general administration and communications, including raising our profile by taking a lead on social media.
You will be working with all members of the wider our team to support and promote our work both online and offline. Working to promote the impact of culture and creativity in addressing the climate emergency, you will be organised and efficient with a talent for writing, a good eye for design and competency across a range of digital tools. You should also be able to prioritise multiple requests and deadlines.
Hours: Full time. This means a 35-hour week with a degree of flexibility on both sides, as some evening and weekend work may be required and busy periods may call for extra hours, with time taken off in lieu during quieter periods.
Holidays: 25 days plus 10 public holidays per annum to be taken at times agreed with the line manager.
Place of work: CCS is based at Thorn House, 5 Rose Street, Edinburgh. Hybrid working is available for all staff at CCS with an expectation to work in the office at least one day per week and attend relevant team meetings in person. For our operational roles it is ideal for staff to be in the office at least two days a week if possible. Travel throughout Scotland may be required for events or meetings on an ad hoc basis.
Contract and notice period: This is a fixed-term contract for the period of December 2025 to 31 March 2026. If further funding is secured there may be the possibility of contract extension if this were of interest to the successful candidate. A probationary period of two months will apply, following successful completion of which the full contract will be confirmed. The notice period is two months for both employer and employee.
Closing date: 9am, Monday 20 October
Interviews: Taking place online on 4/5 November.
