Community Check-In is a practical advice show where you (our creative communities) run the night.

Two communities. One room. One honest conversation about how we're all actually doing.

Exchange members Pick Up The Mic are turning five and are teaming up with Somerset House to celebrate all things community, not with a party, but with something more useful….

Community Check-In is a live, light-hearted, practical advice show where you (our creative communities) run the night.

The kind of event where the creative block you can't shake, the pivot you're scared to make, that shift from making work to managing it from afar, the realities of making the money make sense, that question you keep postponing, finally gets spoken out loud, and explored properly.

Before you arrive, and while you're in the room, you submit real dilemmas. Our Hotline Hosts take them on live: honest perspectives, no filler, a 1-minute action plan for every dilemma that makes the stage. The room gets a say too: Pass the Mic moments open the floor to the crowd, because the best advice in the room isn't always on the stage.

Around the main show, Somerset House Exchange transforms into a mini-Story Arcade with a handful of interactive stations, designed to spark some real connections and capture the moment.

On stage - The Hotline

  • Audience-submitted dilemmas, voted on live
  • Practical answers (not "just believe in yourself")
  • A 1-minute action plan for every one
  • Pass the Mic moments for community wisdom

Around the room - The Arcade

  • Confessional Booth: Record a 60-second clip: what you wish you knew
  • Collab Board: "I need / I offer" matchmaking for projects, gigs, and support
  • Pledge Wall: Write your next move for 2026. Then own it
