This is a unique and exciting role which encompasses a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities. About Creative Opps

Creative Opps aims to give disadvantaged young people access to the tools, networks, and experience that they need to create positive changes for themselves and their communities. To fulfil this aim we deliver user-led programmes, designed by and for young people. Our main areas of programme activity are mentoring and work placement provision across the creative industries. Our core staff team of three, and our eight trustees are all under 35 and have a diverse range of experience working across the creative industries and youth sector. We have over a hundred youth members.

Currently, our work is focused on three key areas:

  • Creative Industry Work Placements;
  • Creative Mentoring Programme;
  • Youth Membership.

Role Breakdown

The post-holder will have a broad range of skills and experience spanning project management, administration, fundraising, financial management, IT and communications. You’ll be able to demonstrate that you can work with flexibility, discretion and motivation to use your diverse skillset to support the CEO with his duties.

Key responsibilities You will be supporting the CEO to deliver his responsibilities which include project management, fundraising, strategy and HR.

  • Accessibility Support: supporting with writing emails, letters, communicating in WhatsApp groups and other channels. reading inaccessible documents, explaining visual representations in meetings, reading, proofreading and formatting documents;
  • Administration: management of the CEO’s diary, booking in meetings and organising an appropriate schedule, taking notes and minutes in meetings, managing databases on a shared drive.


Essential:

You must have:

  • Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in administration.
  • Relevant project management experience.
  • Experience of fundraising, with a focus on trusts and foundations.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365, with particular regard to Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Some experience of working at a charitable organisation or cooperative.
  • Some experience of working with young people, or a desire to.
  • An interest in the creative industries and/or the arts.

Additional Information

As you will be working in an environment with young people, an enhanced DBS check will be conducted for the successful candidate. The position is offered as a part-time, permanent contract, working 8 hours a week + 52 hours a year of ad hoc travel and you must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK. The contract includes pro-rata holiday entitlement and 3% pension contributions. Working hours will be agreed in advance with Creative Opps’ CEO. Ideally the candidate will work the eight hours across two days from 10am-6pm.
