Our new publication will offer BPOC writers, artists and storytellers aged 13 to 18 the opportunity to share their work on the theme of life in Sussex. Everything welcome, including poetry, short stories, longer form writing, visual art.
How to enter
Entry is open to young people aged between 13 and 18 from Black, mixed heritage, global majority and racially minoritised backgrounds.
This is an opportunity to write about your experiences of living in Sussex – in the towns, on the Downs or by the sea. Please use the writing prompts below to help you get started, or explore your own ideas:

About Hidden Sussex
The new publication is part of Writing Our Legacy’s Hidden Sussex outreach programme, which works with primary and secondary schools and communities across Brighton and Sussex to celebrate the diverse heritages, places and people of Sussex. The aim of the programme is to reinvent Sussex Day, which is celebrated on 16 June every year.
