We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Junior Motion Designer (with hands-on motion design experience) to join our in-house team. This is a part-time role (3 days per week, with 1 day in-office) reporting directly to our Head of Art.

d+m is not your average research agency. We work with some of the biggest brands in the world—from Pepsi to HSBC—to deliver research that makes an impact. We believe the best insight doesn’t belong in boring decks or endless reports; it belongs in ideas, stories, and standout creative.

You’ll be our first in-house motion designer—so it’s a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership, grow quickly, and help shape the creative output of a fast-evolving agency.

At d+m, creativity is a team effort - great ideas come from different perspectives - and we want yours.

The Role

You’ll work closely with our Head of Art to develop internal brand materials (like showreels, case study videos, and sizzle content) and deliver standout creative for clients across a huge range of sectors. From tech to soft drinks, banks to beauty, the work is varied—and always thoughtful.

We’re looking for someone who can turn storyboards, scripts, and sometimes just strong insights into motion work that surprises and informs. You should be confident working across both film and animation, or eager to grow in both.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Creating high-quality motion design content for internal use and client work
  • Collaborating on concept development, storyboarding, and execution
  • Bringing research findings to life in engaging, original video formats
  • Working on a wide range of projects—from animated explainers to branded films and case study edits
  • Contributing to the creative direction and pushing the boundaries of what research communication can look like
  • What We're Looking For
  • Hands-on experience in motion design from agency work, freelance projects, studies, or personal creative work
  • A strong, varied portfolio that shows range, originality, and attention to detail
  • Skills across 2D animation (After Effects, Illustrator, etc.) and a basic working knowledge of editing and post-production (Premiere Pro, sound, colour, etc.)
  • A willingness to turn your hand to both polished motion and fast-turnaround sizzles
  • Ambition, curiosity, and a drive to learn and take ownership
  • A self-starter who thrives on feedback and wants to grow quickly
  • Experience with 3D (Blender, Cinema 4D) is a bonus, not a must

Why Join d+m?

  • Be part of an ambitious, unconventional agency doing things differently
  • Shape the motion design function from the ground up
  • Work alongside a friendly, creative team who value bold thinking and individuality
  • Get stuck into work for global clients across a huge range of industries
  • Access a range of benefits designed to support your wellbeing and professional development

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences - even if you don’t meet every requirement listed. If you’re excited about this role and think you could be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you.

As part of that commitment, we support flexible working and do our best to accommodate individual needs. Our London office is accessible, and we’re always happy to discuss any adjustments or tools that help you do your best work.
