If you’re a UK-based digital artist between age 18 and 28, this open call is your opportunity to gain first-hand experience in developing a proposal for an exhibition at arebyte gallery around the theme “The Body, The Mind, The Soul”.
Hotel Generation mentors the next generation of UK digital artists during the critical early stages of their careers in the arts. The development programme selects four young digital artists and pairs them with a mentor for online curatorial guidance as they develop an exhibition proposal for arebyte’s exhibition space, with a £1,000 stipend.
This skills-focused programme culminates in a solo exhibition at arebyte Gallery for one of the four participants, selected by a panel of leading experts from the new media art sector. Hotel Generation aims to equip participants with the confidence to approach galleries, craft clear exhibition proposals, and manage timelines and budgets effectively.
Programme Outline:
● 5 online curatorial sessions with your mentor
● 2 online production sessions with the arebyte team
● One weekend in London for Industry Workshop with accommodation and travel costs covered
● £1,000 stipend to develop your proposal, experiment with material, equipment or software
● For the one final winner selected by the judging panel, a fully funded solo show to realise your proposal
