The Jacky Winter Group is a creative representation and production studio with offices in London, New York and Melbourne. We're looking for a part-time Production Intern to join our UK team this summer.

Established in 2007, The Jacky Winter Group is a creative production and representation studio with offices in London, New York and Melbourne.

Representing over a hundred commercial artists working across a diverse range of specialised branches and partnerships, we solicit and produce thousands of creative briefs a year, ranging from illustration and activations to animation and special projects, catering primarily to advertising agencies, brands, publishers, and design studios.

We are looking for a Production Intern to join our UK team for a two-month, part-time paid internship.

This position will see you working closely alongside our London team, as well as remotely with our production teams in New York & Melbourne.

This is a two-day-a-week (Tuesday & Wednesday) internship position running from late July through to late September, based at our central London co-working space.

Position overview

Working at Jacky Winter is a unique experience which requires an equally unique and dedicated individual. Each day presents new opportunities to work with some of the most forward-thinking creatives, businesses, and brands; acting as one of the driving forces in the creative process, bringing to life ideas and stories of all shapes and sizes.

Whether you are a recent graduate looking to gain some valuable insight into the inner workings of some of the world's most visible campaigns and creative projects, or looking to expand your existing skills in arts administration or account service, we welcome all enquiries from qualified applicants.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for organisation and a curiosity for creative project management to deliver results of the highest standards for the big stuff, the small stuff, and everything in between.

Your professional tone, combined with a sense of humour and passion for the creative industry, will make you a valued partner to our represented artists as you maintain regular contact with them to source new work both for our portfolio and marketing purposes.

On any given day, you might be tagging and updating artist records in Airtable, identifying new agency and brand leads to add to our CRM, researching upcoming awards and industry events, assisting with client-specific outreach decks in Pitch, or adding newly live work to artist folios. You'll handle physical tasks such as packing and shipping promotional materials or retrieving items from storage. Talent scouting is also part of the mix: finding interesting artists and suppliers to share with the wider team for consideration.

You will also be asked to perform research and educate yourself on a variety of topics ranging from how to apply for a permit to paint an outdoor mural to finding the best printing partner. You will be sourcing quotes and engaging third parties and contractors while becoming an expert in a variety of disparate fields; gathering, filtering, interpreting, reporting, and ultimately acting on results.

While we strive for a genuinely relaxed and good-humoured atmosphere and work with an incredibly diverse range of creatives, we value people who can employ a finely tuned sense of intuition and emotional intelligence to modulate their tone and behaviour for the appropriate situation.

We must also stress that this is primarily a production and administrative support position. While we are responsible for a lot of creative work and deeply value the inherent creative nature of being producers, the nature of our work can often be highly administrative, which is why we have taken so much time to write this application and set the correct expectations of what we do and what we are looking for, and to avoid potential disappointment.

General skills required:

  • Basic knowledge and appreciation for our represented artists and ventures.
  • Good time management and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and research skills.
  • Good foundation in communication and listening skills, and an interest in continuing to develop these skills further.
  • Comfortable using common organisational tools (such as Slack, Google Drive and Airtable).

Mandatories

  • Legal status to work in the UK.
  • Proficiency in the MacOS and iOS operating systems.
  • A demonstrated and active passion for visual art and/or the strange and wonderful world of advertising.
  • Proficiency in Pitch and Figma and confidence using pre-designed templates to create presentations.
  • London-based or able to commute to London two days a week.
  • You'll need to bring your own laptop. MacOS preferred, in line with our team setup.

Hours & Location

This is a part-time role of two days per week (9.30am - 5.30pm on Tuesday & Wednesday) based in The Exchange co-working space at Somerset House.

Benefits

In addition to a £14.80 (London living wage) hourly rate paid monthly, and monthly team lunches, you will grow your career in new and unexpected ways, witnessing original artwork blossom from a two line email to a campaign blanketing the city, all while working alongside some of the most inspiring talents across the globe, sleeping soundly each night knowing that you were a part of making the world a better-looking place, and helping artists and creative people sustain their career so they can continue to do what they do best.

We're all hands on deck here, and you will be making a direct impact on the agency in new and meaningful ways each day, constantly working on big-picture goals without forgetting the small details or getting your hands dirty.
