Join us for our September Upgrade Yourself Monthly as we dive into the intersection of sustainability, creativity, and climate justice in fashion.
Brought to you by The Fashion Blueprint (TFB) this session brings together community, activism, and hands-on design to challenge the norms of the global fashion industry.
We’ll kick things off with a panel discussion, Protecting Our Futures: How to Stop Waste Colonialism in Fashion, exploring how fast fashion impacts communities globally, particularly in the Global South. This conversation will spotlight solutions for a more equitable and sustainable industry. There will be a Q&A session following the panel, giving you the chance to engage directly with our experts.
Next, roll up your sleeves in our T-Shirt Upcycling Workshop, where you’ll transform old t-shirts into wearable art. In partnership with Traid, who are generously donating second-hand tees, we’ll guide you through customising them using discarded textiles and natural textile dyes. You’re welcome to bring your own t-shirt too!
There will also be dedicated time during and after the event for networking, offering space to explore collaborations, spark conversations, or meet the speakers and fellow attendees.
By the end of the evening, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of the fashion system, climate justice, new skills in upcycling, and connections to a community shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
As always, free drinks and food, provided by Butch Salads, will be available throughout the evening.
