V&A Inwrds 2026: Performance Project
V&A Young People's Team

Inwrds is a performance project for 12 young people aged 18-26 who are interested in exploring collaborative performance practice and creating an original piece of work inspired by the grotesque and gothic objects at V&A South Kensington.
Working with artists, writer Yomi Ṣode and theatremaker Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, you will devise original work through collaborative discussion, writing, poetry and performance.
The project will finish with a live performance on Saturday 4th July in The Daylit Gallery at the V&A. The performance will showcase the work created during the project.
Over 12 sessions you will:
- Collaborate and share practice with a group of fellow young writers and performers.
- Explore different approaches to creating poetry and have space to develop and reflect on your writing.
- Receive guidance on your writing in a 30 minute 1 to 1 with Yomi Ṣode.
- Explore approaches and techniques to performatively work with text.
- As a company you will collaboratively create a performance which you will perform to an audience at the V&A in The Daylit Gallery. Yomi Ṣode and Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu willdirect this performance.
- This course is free. You will be paid £14.80 per hour for your time on the performance day (Saturday 4th July)
