Visitor Services Attendant
Polka Theatre
We are looking for Visitor Services Attendants to join the team at our beautiful venue in Wimbledon to be the first point of contact with audience members and visitors.

What would you be doing?
You will be one of the first staff members people see when they visit Polka so the role will involve lots of face-to-face communication, answering queries and helping people in a positive way. You will embody the ethos of Polka, working proactively to maintain a professional, welcoming, and safe environment for our visitors and team members. Often the first point of contact with our audience members and visitors, your role at Polka is vital in delivering the exemplary service that has made Polka the beloved and trusted company it is. You will provide guidance and support to our team of Polka Volunteers. You may be working in the theatre, shop and/or café, across all public areas including the toilets, as these are all important parts of our visitors’ experience.

We invest in our people through training opportunities which help us learn and understand more about working together.
Polka Theatre is a pioneering and unique children’s theatre venue, staging exceptional productions and developing industry-leading Creative Learning experiences which are accessible for all children to enjoy. In 2024 we won the UK Theatre Award for Most Welcoming Theatre, as well as Merton Best Business. In 2026 we received two Olivier Award nominations for our productions.
Salary: £14.80 per hour (London Living Wage) plus holiday pay.
Hours: you need to be available to work weekends with some weekday shifts. Polka Theatre is open Tuesday to Sunday each week and hours are worked according to the needs of the theatre’s venue and performance and schedule and, therefore, no minimum weekly hours. are guaranteed. Schedules are completed two weeks in advance and shift length may vary slightly depending on the length of the performance.
